Corrupt Politicians In India - How To Make Change As a True Indian
74India is infamous for its corrupt politicians. Due to the disintegration or weakening of national parties, they have no other choice other than to support these corrupt among them. Most of the allies in the Government forming political parties have less than 50 seats and among them 90 percent is corrupt. But as the national parties do not have clear majority they have to get the support of small regional parties which got only a few elected members. So most often they have to be blind when the allies make any wrong move.
When I was young, the time when I did not have the voting, always wondered why people are voting for the corrupt. I thought the uneducated and illiterate are the majority and they are unaware of these facts and vote the corrupt politicians to the legislation. But when I grew up I realized the fact that in the fast growing economy of India most of the people are either educated or literate, and moreover the media has grown so fast that everyone is aware of all these dirty corruption.
Then I wondered why these people are elected. Then most of the corporate media came with the fact that, the educated and people who got job, specially who works in corporate sector never vote. They say the reason as what is the use of voting all are corrupt. The uneducated who vote shown the same trend of voting the corrupt as they are unaware of the facts.
As Gandhiji said during freedom fight, “You should be the change you wish to see in this world”. But we want the change but will not work, current situation is like that. We blame other for voting, forgetting the fact we did not vote, so that the corrupt will not come to power. Not everyone is corrupt, there are a few who still holds some moral and political values. At least one will be there who is better than the corrupt candidate.
Another fact is, now the country India got the status of secular only in the constitution. Most of the political parties are playing the card of ‘vote in the name of religion and caste’. This has to be changed first. If one religion is appeased by a party, the rival party will be support another religion. Some feel they had been left out in all these canvassing and appeasement. These group will finally form some radical group and so on the story continues.
The only way to change all these things, cast your vote next time. Blame, but work to stop this along with blaming. Vote for a change. Always think, ‘I am the change I wish to see in this world’, rather than to say or think, ‘he should be the change I wish to see in this world’.
Follow Up
In the year 2011, there are many campaigns against corruption. The noted ones are movement lead by freedom fighter Anna Hazare and yoga guru Baba Ramdev. Thousand gathered in capital in support for both these in the capital of India. Congress government gave cold response in the beginning but later on felt the pressure form both people and opposition parties. The government agreed to some extend to Hazare, but later on there was some dispute. Hazare threatened to start his hunger strike on August 16th, 2011 if the Lokpal Bill draft is not passed in the parliament.
Where as in the case of yoga guru's hunger strike initiation against black money stashed in foreign banks, the government interfered after one week and supporters were forced out of the capital, Ramdev was arrested and send to Haridwar. He continued his fast in Haridwar. New Delhi government asked Ramdev not to enter Delhi.
The response from the Congress spokespersons were shameful. Ramdev demanded action against the black money and in midnight they were removed from the camp. The usual media hypes of the Congress party kept silence and continued the drama, as they know the people who elected are fools and will bring them to power next time too.

Anna's fast against corruption entered the sixth day, yet government says, Anna and his associates are corrupt, and he is doing all these for publicity. The recent statement by the government accuses Anna is the face of fascists, Maoists and the extremist. Then what about the people who are supporting them in millions. Why they protect Kasab and threatening a man who voiced against corruption. India is a democratic country, where anyone can protest, but he was detained ahead of the protest. And the man who killed more than 100 in Mumbai attack is in tight security, with crores spent on him. And the people who attacked Indian parliament is still there in jail. Who is getting benefit of all these.

These politicians re sucking us.. We must raise our voice.. If we ignore that now. We will be completely dominated by them. Money deposited in forgien banks has to be brought bak to India. Then only India will be no more poor.
every child born in India is taught corruption from birth so they should be called corrupt full citizen not fruitful citizen.

@simran : School is a place where the young mind is molded, where he or she spend most of his/her time. Teachers should be the role model for them. Should be educated in a proper way.

Anna Hajare's initiative was great and some how the bigining to the anti curruption era.
But this nees to go on, cos this currupt govt has already started asking the fate of honesty of Mr Hajare.
This is a shameless govt. it only care about efficiency of corrution so that the money can be collected for the election.
Its the time to do some thing and piss on this govern ment who has sucked the blood out of our mother india and deposited it in swiss bank accounts.

Most of the communities in India (such as Bengali), are succumbed in 'Culture of Poverty'(a theory introduced by an American anthropologist Oscar Lewis), irrespective of class or economic strata, lives in pavement or apartment. Nobody is at all ashamed of the deep-rooted corruption, decaying general quality of life, worst Politico-administrative system, weak mother language, continuous absorption of common space (mental as well as physical, both). We are becoming fathers & mothers only by self-procreation, mindlessly & blindfold. Simply depriving their(the children) fundamental rights of a decent, caring society, fearless & dignified living. Do not ever look for any other positive alternative behaviour (values) to perform human way of parenthood, i.e. deliberately co-parenting of those children those are born out of ignorance, real poverty. All of us are being driven only by the very animal instinct. If the Bengali people ever be able to bring that genuine freedom (from vicious cycle of 'poverty') in their own life/attitude, involve themselves in 'Production of Space’(Henri Lefebvre), at least initiate a movement by heart, decent & dedicated Politics will definitely come up.

People should realise the cause of everything. It is not just the politicians who are corrupt but all the people. Corruption is everywhere, every common man participates in it, so just don't point it out at politicians alone, it doesn't. Don't start the blame game, we do not know who started it(nor we want to know it), but any single person/community cannot be accounted for it. Lets chuck that and search for solutions.
Every individual should correct themselves, should turn as whistle blowers. People need to understand that a country of billion people cannot be administered by just a few lakh people. Every citizen needs to pitch in. If everyone in the street spend 1 hour to in a week to clean their streets, their place would be heaven. So everyone needs to work for the betterment. When will people work? People keep themselves clean, their house clean, bikes clean but not the public area because they feel it's not their property; but they should realise that its their property and they have to maintain it, so when someone spits saliva on road, one should react the same way had it occurred in their house.
Give people a sense of ownership on the public property. Every Public decision needs to be documented so that someone doesn't question a decision in the middle of a huge Govt process. Every Govt. servant needs to be a decision maker and every decision needs to be owned by them. There needs to be clear demarcation of power, so when a wrong decision is taken, one could catch the person red handedly. So now everyone will have responsibility and there will be no blame game.
As the saying in tamil goes, " Thieves cannot be eradicated, unless all thieves rectify themselves on their own". Likewise people need to realise about themselves. As everything is inter wined I could not restrict my views to corruption alone.
GREED and ILLITERACY is the cause for all; British people used this venom to plunder into India & maintained chaos so that they could survive and administer us. Even after they have left, we are corrupted by those greedy ideas/thoughts. Eg: How many of you know the cause for Sardarji jokes? It is said that Britishers started this to humiliate Sardars as they were very successful and physically powerful. We still crack jokes on the poor people who did nothing wrong.
Humans do realise the most important thing in life is
1) Food
2) Shelter
3) Clothing.
I am not sure how many people even remember this, as a kid we did study this in school.
Respect humans, be it a Janitor or a Engineer. First, he is a human. Keep that in mind.
Politicians are corrupt is a wrong notion, PEOPLE/HUMANS are corrupt. Do realise it.
